Where We're Supposed To Be

OK, so I might chicken out of the haircut or at least get it cut in a style that's similar but a little longer as a test run.

Tonight I made myself a writing journal and came up with yet another story idea. I realized my problem with focus stems from my mind constantly going a mile a minute. I wish I could help it through. I bounce from one idea to another in a matter of days.

The same with books! I didn't even finish Vixen yet and I'm now reading Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I had to go out and pick up the soundtrack (which is killer) and I can't wait to see the movie. Nick is such a unique character- I really love the way the authors wrote him. After that I'm going to read Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married at the suggestion of my dear friend, Jenner.

And now for some lyrics. Appropriately chosen from the Nick and Norah Soundtrack.

We’re all right where we’re supposed to be
Time means nothing
We’re all right where we’re supposed to be
Time means nothing

This door is always open
This door is always open
No one has the guts to shut us out
No one has the guts to shut us out

1920s Fascination

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm obsessed with the 1920s. I love the glamour, the culture, the language and the cute short haircuts. So much so that I am seriously thinking about getting the haircut I always wanted. A short, black 1920-ish style bob!

Books, Books and More Books

Today was semi-productive. I sorted through my books- gave away some I didn't plan to ever read and keep the ones I'll read over the next year or two. Yup, years. I'm a bit of a book hoarder and have more books than I know what to do with!

I'm a little late on starting a book challenge but I'ma go for it anyway! :)

Each month, I plan to read (2) non-fiction or self help books, (1) young adult book, and (2) fiction books. I'm going to cheat and begin a few days early starting with I Remember You by Harriet Evans Vixen by Jillian Larkin. I'm obsessed with the 1920s!

I'll also be posting my reviews of the books I read here. I'm also considering doing a daily writing exercise and posting it here as well. Or maybe keeping a journal. The best way for a writer to practice is to write and I know it need the practice!

I can only hope that my book ends up on the shelves of a bookstore someday :)

Novels

I bought these cute journals at the bookstore and added the titles of my novels using scrapbook lettering.

Now I just have to fill them with my own lettering... which means I need to write them!
